SHORT DESCRIPTION n-Butyl acetate is a clear colorless liquid with a fruit odor. It is miscible with a number organic solvents; almost insoluble in water. n-Butyl acetate can be easily hydrolyzed in presence of acids or alkali solutions.

USES n-Butyl acetate is used:

 

  • as a solvent for perchlorovinyl-, polyacryl- and other lacquers;
  • as a solvent for nitro-, ethyl-, and acetyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, natural and synthetic resins, vegetable oils and fats;
  • as an agent for extraction of natural flavorings;
  • in fruit essences and perfumes.
